General Information on the

Tokyo Metropolitan Children's Hall

Roof Playground (R)
Open on Saturdays,Sundays and holidays 10:00 A.M.- 4:00 P.M.
Unicycles,Skating,and other outdoor activities.The Roof Playground is opened everyday from 10:00 A.M.- 5:00 P.M. from July 20 to August 31.


Library Floor (5F) Picture Book Time daily at 3:00pm
A range of reading materials available anytime. You can check out up to 6 books for 2 weeks.
Student Lounge: Relaxing area for students to read or talk. (Jr. & Sr. High)
Storybook & Comic Book Area: Read away. (Elementary - toddler w/parent)
Lawn Area: For out-door play.


Arts and Music, Lecture Hall (4F) (wheelchair accessible restroom with baby seat)
Art Area: Materials available for a variety of arts and crafts projects. (Toddler - Sr. High)
Music Room: Pianos and other instruments to play freely. (Toddler - Elementary)
Music Studio: A fully equipped studio for band practice and recording. (By appointment)
Lecture Hall: Available for rent for events related to child health, education, etc.
Lawn Area: For out-door play.


Waku Waku Area, Cafeteria, Materials Desk (3F)
Scientific Craft Area: Various things to make and experiment with. (toddler - elementary)
Mini Theater: Film and video projected on a large screen.
Paper Craft Area: Fun things for kids and parents to make together. (toddler - elementary)
Human Body Maze(Large Playing Implement): (1st, 2nd, 3rd grade elementary school students)
Event Area: Fun singing, dance, and exercise games and events. (toddler - elementary)
Honobono Corner: A space where infants can play with their guardians. (toddler)
Computer Room: Getting familiarized with computers. (toddler - elementary)
Wireless Communication Room: Enjoy amateur wireless radio. (elementary-Sr. high)
Cafeteria/Materials Desk: Eat lunch or snacks, and purchase craft materials.


Family Area,Athletics Corner, Counseling Center (2F)
Family Area: An indoor play area for tots. (Supervision required)
Athletics Corner: A wooden jungle gym for indoor play.
Nurse's Room: With a bed for resting in case of sudden illness. Break Room
Child Counseling Center: In-person or phone counseling available free.


Woodshop, Game Area (B1F)
Woodshop: Use saws, planes, drills to make wooden toys and crafts. (elem. - Jr. High)
Multi-purpose Space: Play ping pong, ride kiddie cars, etc. (toddlers and up)
Orientation Rooms 1 & 2: For group use, etc.
Exhibition Area: For displaying all kinds of artwork.

Toilets with baby seats are provided in the women's restroom on every floor,
and in the men's restroom on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors.

Nearest stations: Located seven minutes on foot from Shibuya Station on the JR Yamanote Line, JR Saikyo Line, Tokyu Toyoko Line, Tokyu Denentoshi Line, Keio Inokashira Line, Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line, and the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line(exit 13)
Admission: Free. For group use please call in advance for details.

Facilities available for rent: Theater Hall (capacity: 680) ,Lecture Hall (capacity: 100)
Reservations accepted up to six months in advance. A fee is charged.
