[H] A course touring Tanashi and Farm of the University of Tokyo

Route Description

Tanashi Sta. North Exit→Tanashi Jinja Shrine→Soji-ji Temple→Farm of the University of Tokyo→Experiment forest affiliated with University of Tokyo→Tanashi Elementary School→Tanashi Sta. North Exit

This route features designated cultural properties, including Tanashi Jinja Shrine and Soji-ji Temple, and giant trees on their grounds which are reminiscent of Tanashi-juku, a post station during the Edo Period. The straight road toward the north from Tanashi Sta. leads to the front gate of the so-called "University of Tokyo Farm." The farm is used for research and educational purposes, but partially open to the public for observation. This is a valuable place that allows you to see an extensive farm and rare trees.

* These are estimates given for a person, weight 60kg, moving at 4km per hour, walking 10 min.=30kcal, one step=70cm.
