What Is Dementia?

Dementia refers to a decline in cognitive function *3 that interferes with daily life and activities. It is caused when brain cells are damaged or become less functional for various reasons.

Condition of dementia / Brain disease / Impairment of cognitive function / Difficulty in doing daily activities / Physical condition / Living environment, etc. / Behavioral and psychological symptoms / Anxiety, depression, aggression, hallucination, delusion, wandering, etc.

Diseases that cause dementia

There are three main causes of dementia: Alzheimer’s disease, cerebrovascular accidents, and Lewy body disease. Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause.
